Letter from Season With Yo Soul.

First of all, I’l start by saying this is not your typical food blog. I am not going to bore you with some somber ass story about how I discovered the recipe. You won’t see anything like “I found this recipe while walking through a snowstorm for 12 days while recovering from heartbreak”. Bump that. That shit is BORING! I’ve never been one to “follow”. I’m going to keep it straight and to the point. You know short and sweet like a cupcake. Just the recipe with tips. Keeping it old school like a cookbook.

Second of all, you will notice that there are no actual measurements for some of the ingredients especially herbs and spices. That’s on purpose. Recipes are meant to be a guide not the absolute. Everything I’m creating is done through trial and error. You have to fail to get to the delicious triumph. I make every recipe my own because my soul tells me how, what, when, and where to do something. I call this “Seasoning With Yo Soul.” I’m putting everything into my cooking and I believe this is why everything I create taste delicious af. It’s the type of food that gives you a hard on foodgasm and makes you say, “Oh fuck! That shit is delicious!”

Baking and cooking are more than just the complexity and structure, it’s also about the emotions and feelings that not only go into it but also when you’re enjoying it. As I have learned over the years, like with everything in life, what works for one person, might not work for another. The same goes when you’re recreating one of my recipes. You don’t have to follow it exactly. Follow your soul. So if you feel like only using half a bag of chocolate chips instead of the whole ass bag like I do, go for it. If you want to use one more head of garlic than I use, DO IT! I’m not going to stop you. My recipe is just the baseline so make it yours. Do you, seasoned soul. Just do you! And remember to have fun while doing it. That’s the whole ass point of Season With Yo Soul.

Okay. I’ve rambled long enough. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and talent with you.

And always remember… Season With Yo Soul!
